Moving from one office to another can be a real pain, especially if you need to do it quick and minimize the down time that your office is closed. Here are some pointers that you can follow to avoid this particular scenario. It will all come down to prioritizing and allocating the work needed to make the transfer.
1. Start with maintaining communications with your customers. You can have a very short downtime, as short as the travel time of your communication devices from one office to the other. The way to do it is, have someone who sets up your office phones lines and networks go to the new office and set everything up before your computers and phones get there. That way you just have to plug them in when you make the transfer.
2. If you have walk-in customers, make sure that their needs can be addressed immediately by prioritizing the furniture and fixtures needed to assist them.
3. If your office does not have the manpower or vehicles needed to quickly move your bulky items, then it may be necessary to hire a professional commercial junk removal company to do it for you. It might cost you but it might cost you more in sales if your downtime will be significant in handling the transfer yourself.
4. It is very important that you follow your schedule to the letter. If your schedule entails that the complete transfer to be done in one or two days, then make sure that everything goes according to that plan.
